Description

In this pack you will receive:

2 x Teh Tarik Sachets 40 x 6g
1 x  Penang Kopi O Kosong 15 x 18g
1 x Coffee / Tea Sock

The recipe for teh tarik is simple:

Hot water, tea dust and sweetened condensed milk. However, some people would add evaporated milk to it and then you pull!

  • 500ml cup of hot water
  • 2 tbsp tea dust or 1 sachet of tea dust
  • 3-4 tbsp sweetened condensed milk
  • 4-5 tbsp evaporated milk (optional)

Preparations:

  1. Brew the tea in hot water for 3-5 minutes.
  2. Strain and pour into a clean cup.
  3. Add sweetened condensed milk and stir.
  4. Carefully pour the tea into a second cup back and forth several times until the texture of the tea is creamy and frothy.
  5. Once you have achieved the desired texture, pour the tea into another cup and serve immediately.

Adjust the condensed milk/sweetness according to your taste.

The Malaysian kopi is an acquired taste. The coffee is rather strong in flavour while aromatic. The flavour of the coffee depends on how the coffee beans are treated. For example, some are double roasted and enhanced with extra sugar, salt and margarine, and it can be fast roasting or slow roasting etc.

There are many choices on how you have your coffee, whether it is black, white, without sugar, with sugar or condensed milk etc.

OK, so what kopi would you like? Here are a few examples when ordering kopi in a Malaysian kopitiam:

  • Kopi – Coffee + Condensed milk
  • Peng – Ice
  • Kosong – no sugar and no milk
  • Kao – Thick
  • Pok – Mild
  • C – with evaporated milk
  • O – Black (no milk)

As the variation of coffee you can order:

  • Kopi – Coffee with condensed milk
  • Kopi-O – O means black – black coffee with sugar
  • Kopi – Cham – coffee, tea and condensed milk
  • Kopi-C – Coffee, evaporated milk and sugar etc
  • Kopi Kosong – Coffee – no sugar, no milk
  • Kopi Peng – Peng is ice – Ice coffee with condensed milk
