In chinese we call it 香餅 or fragrant pastries in English.

These pastriescontain a sweet sticky filling made from malt and shallots, which is covered by a flaky baked crust and garnished with sesame seeds on the surface. (source: Wikipedia)

Very popular in Malaysia.

Heating Instructions:

For a more crunchier taste, unwrap the “Heong Peah” biscuit and place in the oven for 5 minutes at 150°C. (Not recommended to use with microwave).

Please note: Heong Peah was shipped in a freezer container to maintain the freshness as it either contains no preservatives or minimal. The caramel Maltose will harden and so will the pastry. We advise customers to either reheat in the oven ( the pastry will be crispy again and the maltose will dissolve) or microwave ( both will heat up but pastry will be softer)
