Has anyone ever asked you this question? WHAT DO YOU WANT?

So I am asking you now…. WHAT DO YOU WANT?

Can you answer this question straight away? Close your eyes, take a deep breath and ask yourself…”WHAT DO I WANT in life?”..Family, Career…What Do I Want???

How many of you have never been asked this question before?  or are considering it now for the first time?

I know some of you would be very surprised to be asked this question, and I am no exception. This is a very simple question, but for some, it may require some effort to come up with the answer.

From my own experience with my family, I can fully understand that some people have to fulfill not only the role of a parent but also the role of daughter or son to his or her own parents and as a relative to the extended families. There are many roles to fill, and it can be difficult to have the time to even think of yourself, let alone create the space to recharge and think about WHAT YOU WANT.

Notice that when you ask young children what they want, they will tell you without any hesitation exactly what they want, such as a big house, the chance to fly a rocket to the moon, a truck, to be superman, etc.

However, as we grow older, we are bombarded with a busy lifestyle, mortgage to pay, school fees, bills, aging parents, more bills….  and we gradually start to lose the connection to ourselves and move in a direction of what is expected of us rather than what we actually want to achieve in life.

But, I am telling you now, yes, you can still reconnect to dreams! So right now, give yourself permission and the opportunity to reconnect with the little child in you again.

Give yourself a few minutes a day to think about what you want in your life, what makes you happy, what makes you sad, what frustrates you?.. and journal it down.

What do you want in life?

What do you want to achieve in your career?

What do you want for your family?

Knowing what you want in life is crucial; in fact, it is paramount as it allows you to channel your energy and focus on it. Remember: thought become things.
